Atimango Brenda Ruth lost her father when she was 5 at the hands of the Rebels during the 20-year war in Northern Uganda, leaving Brenda and her Mom to return to the house of her Grandparents. When the Rebels found them there too, they ordered Brenda’s Grandmother to kill her Grandfather, but when they sent her to get the weapon, she escaped. After the death of her Grandfather, Brenda’s Mother had no choice but to remarry. Her new husband gave her HIV, and she died shortly after, leaving Brenda all alone.
